Biblical Counseling
Find hope and help with the real problems of life
The Bible is sufficient to address all matters that pertain to our lives and relationship with God. We believe that with God's help, we can find Biblical solutions to any and all of life's problems. Therefore, we offer biblical counseling to our church and community free of charge.
Our Counselors
Our counselors are trained to understand life’s problems through a Biblical lens and apply God’s Word to even the most difficult situations. Each of our counselors is certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), which seeks to ensure doctrinal integrity and biblical practices in counseling.
What to expect
Our counseling sessions are offered on Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Most counseling sessions take about 1 hour. Here's what you can expect during that time.

Privacy and care
Our staff and volunteers will care for you and treat you with respect. Everything will be held in strict confidence except where there is a Biblical requirement to involve others (e.g., criminal activity).

Encouragement
Our counselors will encourage you in your successes and exhort you to think and behave in a way that pleases Jesus Christ.

Weekly homework
We'll assign you homework to take home between your weekly counseling sessions. The assignments are meant to encourage lasting change.

A time commitment
Habits are not developed overnight, and new habits will take time to develop. In most cases, we ask individuals to commit to regular counseling appointments for 3 to 4 months.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have to be a Christian to receive counseling?
We are pleased to offer counsel to all who seek it no matter where they are in their spiritual journey. While being a Christian is not a requirement, our counselors will use the life-giving resources of God's Word as the basis of all their counsel. Many people have renewed or begun their relationship with Christ through our counseling ministry.
Do women meet with male counselors?
We have male and female counselors, and you may be placed with either. However, we seek to match individual women with our female counselors, but this is sometimes not possible.
Regardless, our rule is that men will not counsel women alone. We have an advocate program where counselors in training sit in on the counseling to observe and learn. In the case of a male counselor meeting with a female, you will be paired with an advocate.
What Should I expect for my first visit?
The first visit is a time to share the details of your struggle to help your counselor understand and counsel you from the word appropriately. After the initial session, the first few sessions will often be spent teaching basic counseling concepts and God's Word. This initial information is essential to successful counseling.
How do I schedule my first visit?
We offer counseling on Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The first step is filling out our online intake form by clicking the button below. Once you complete the form, you will be contacted to schedule your first appointment.
What is your philosophy of change?
The Bible teaches us that we can change and grow through the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us. Many counseling models anticipate years and years for any real change to happen. Not with Biblical counseling. God's Word gives us guidance on how to change today.
While initial changes do take place quickly and most counseling lasts between 8 - 12 weeks, a person must continue to practice their new skills and habits for the long term. Change means we live differently than we used to. This means we must daily depend on God's grace to practice and establish new habits that can last a lifetime.
Is childcare provided?
We are unable to provide childcare.
